Information

In the City of Three Cultures you can visit the imposing Alcázar which was witness to the most recent history, the impressive Gothic cathedral in the centre of the historic quarter, the synagogues and mosques, the numerous monuments, the museums; and you can stroll through its parks and gardens. The day in Toledo does not end at nightfall; the illumination of its historic buildings is also part of its tourist attractions and is another of the charms of the capital of La Mancha.

Environment

There’s still more to discover in the City of Three Cultures.
The Plaza de Zocodover is a must-visit square and, from there, you can start tour of its historic quarter, which is full of narrow streets, hidden squares, churches and convents.

There are also synagogues and mosques, witnesses to the comingling of cultures, as well as museums.
Toledo has been home to illustrious figures, from kings to poets and painters.

The paintings of El Greco are strongly linked to the city. In the Church of Santo Tomé you’ll see his famous painting The Burial of Count Orgaz and it has its own museum exhibiting other paintings of his.

The Imperial City has enough to occupy you for a whole day, but if you travel plenty of time, we recommend you take advantage of the location of the capital of La Mancha to visit other places.
Toledo is less than an hour from Madrid, which has a wide range of tourist attractions.
The capital has the Royal Palace, the Prado Museum, the Convent of the Discalced, the Austrias quarter, and many other options for sightseeing, strolling and trying different foods.
Even closer to Toledo is the Royal Site of Aranjuez and its impressive Royal Palace.
