The Hotel has the largest collection of Madrid School paintings in the Paradors collection. In Santiago de Compostela alone, more than 140 works by artists including Martínez Novillo, Álvaro Delgado and Menchu Gal are on display. What’s more, the Parador has a business centre with large-capacity, spacious rooms for holding corporate and private events and celebrations of all kinds; it is equipped with the best technology and services to guarantee their success.
Beyond the Camino de Santiago, the city offers visitors a multitude of options, such as walking routes to discover the monuments in its streets and squares, walks through its parks and gardens and, if you have time, excursions to explore the Galician estuaries.
From the Plaza del Obradoiro there are several walking routes through the historic centre, which can take you to other iconic places in the Galician capital, such as the Mercado de Abastos, the Pazo de Fonseca and the Museums of the Pogo Galego and the Pilgrimages.
Its parks and gardens are also good places for a stroll, and they offer the best views of the city.
Of course, we can’t forget its cuisine. In Santiago de Compostela you can sample the delights of Galician cuisine, such as padrón peppers and Tarta de Santiago, and try its exquisite wines.
If you have time, you should try to see the Galician estuaries: the Rías Baixas from Muros to Vigo and Baiona, with its Illas Atlánticas natural park; the Rías Altas from A Coruña to Barqueiro; A Costa da Morte, from Carnota to Malpica; and the Mariña Lucense.
