Information

La Palma, a World Biosphere Reserve, has a great diversity of ecosystems. In just a few kilometres you can enjoy volcanic landscapes, great cliffs, arid coasts and laurel forests. The Caldera de Taburiente National Park and the Roque de los Muchachos are the two most special places on the island and they’re both unmissable.

Environment

Another of the essential visits on the island is the Roque de los Muchachos viewpoint, which is located at the island’s highest point. It is one of the best places in the world to watch the stars. There you can enjoy a  walk along the edge of the Caldera de Taburiente and, if the sky is cloudless, you’ll see the islands of Tenerife, La Gomera and El Hierro on the horizon.

La Palma offers other special spots such as the Route of the Volcanoes, in the Cumbre Vieja Natural Park; the ravines, such as Fagundo, Los Hombres and La Luz; the Fuencaliente salt flats and the Charco Azul natural pools. If you’re lucky, you can admire the sea of clouds formed by the trade winds hitting the island’s slopes.
