The building, which dates back to 1968, was renovated in 2002 to expand its room and restaurant capacity. A modern building that looks like a mountain shelter, stone and wood are the predominant materials used in its construction. Its cuisine, a point of reference in the region, is noteworthy for its inclusion of game, veal from Aragon, and homemade desserts such as Pasteras and Teresitas.
The Pineta Valley is the most spectacular enclave in the Wild Pyrenees. An impressive cirque born from glacial ice and the waters of the river Cinca, which sustains this landscape of waterfalls, beech forests and the impressive vegetation that abounds in this area. It is also the gateway to the Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The beautiful town of Bielsa has an old quarter with gems such as the Romanesque chapel of Nuestra Señora de Pineta. It’s famous for its carnival, held at the end of winter, when unique characters parade through the streets and ancestral traditions are renewed.
The natural environment offers a wide range of opportunities for sport. Hiking, climbing the valley’s peaks, rock climbing and canyoning through its spectacular gorges, and mountain bike routes are some options. Or take a 4x4 excursion to the lookout points of Ordesa which includes a picnic with artisanal products and free entrance to a nature museum (FCQ). Ask for more information at the Parador.

The restaurant of the Parador de Bielsa is located on the first floor of this cosy mountain shelter. A warm space with wooden floors and beams, decorated with wrought iron lamps, which offers spectacular views of the Pineta valley and the waterfalls of the Cinca river. Refuel with some migas aragonesas (fried breadcrumbs), a succulent roast veal, a fine Cinca trout or a good wild boar stew washed down with Somontano wines.
